Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Selwood Academy. We are an Anglican / Methodist Foundation Middle school serving the needs of children aged 9 - 13 in Years 5 – 8 which sits at the heart of the community of Frome.

The children at Selwood Academy are a delight and they make coming to school exciting and enriching every day.  As Head Teacher, I feel very blessed to lead, develop and share their love of learning alongside our dedicated staff team.

Mr Dan Jeffries

Our Vision

As a school, our vision is to allow our whole community to “let your light shine before others.” This is underpinned by our Christian values of Hope, Wisdom, Community and Joy. Every act and decision that we undertake has this in mind.

Our Christian foundations ensure that we value each child as unique and special and we dedicate ourselves to ensuring that our children are loved, cared for, challenged and given every opportunity to fulfil their god given potential.

Our Staff

Selwood Academy is recognised as a warm, caring and vibrant community. Staff are ambitious and work collaboratively with local partners to ensure that all stakeholders are able to “let their light shine before others”.  We value and promote quality staff development and welcome rich opportunities for growth to benefit pupils and the whole community.  We are here to help and support, so click here for direct email addresses to key staff members for ease of contacting us at any time.

Christian Distinctiveness

Selwood Academy is an Anglican/Methodist Middle School. We are proud of our Christian Foundation which is rooted in our involvement with our local Anglican & Methodist Churches and other denominations within the Frome area. Everyone within our school community, all faiths or none, endeavour to live out our Vision Statement ’Let your Light Shine' (Matthew 5:16) which echoes the Mission of both the Anglican & Methodist Churches of loving God & loving our neighbour.
