Create Perform Analyse
Create: By providing a supportive and dynamic environment, we encourage pupils to experiment, compose, and perform, fostering their individual creativity and collaborative skills. Through hands-on experiences, we aim to help pupils discover their unique musical voice, while also building a strong foundation in music theory and technique.
Perform: By offering diverse musical opportunities and fostering a supportive community, we strive to inspire pupils to appreciate the beauty of music, both as individuals and as part of a larger creative community. Every pupil at Selwood is offered the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and to develop their performance skills and build confidence.
Analyse: By developing critical listening skills and understanding the structure, style, and context of various musical genres, we aim to deepen pupils connection to the music they hear and create. Through thoughtful analysis, pupils will explore how music communicates emotion, culture, and history, while enhancing their own musical expressions and performance.
Ultimately, we hope to cultivate a passion for music that will resonate with pupils beyond the classroom, enriching their lives and their future.
